The Appleton Ladies’ Potato Race The story of Dr. Penny Anderson moved from Sydney to her childhood home in Appleton. While visiting her sister Nikki’s hairdresser Penny sees flyers advertising the Appleton Show and the famous potato race. She discovered that the male first prize was $2,000 and the female prize was only $200. Penny led the protests that caused chaos in Appleton. Especially with Nikki who is the current champion.
